Permanent Residency Germany

Permanent residency Germany may be granted by applying for a settlement permit under the German Migration Act. As a citizen from outside of Europe, you are entitled to permanent residency in Germany if you have had a residence permit for five years and satisfy the further statutory preconditions for permanent residency.

Permanent residency in Germany may also be issued after shorter periods in the following cases:

• Highly skilled professionals who have received a specific job offer may immediately receive permanent residency status in Germany.
• Holder of a German Blue Card may apply after 21 months for permanent residency.
• You may receive permanent residency status in Germany after 3 years if you are self-employed and/or you have established a business in Germany.
